Our Story

FarmHer Hands was never just about creating a better pair of gloves.

It began with two sisters, countless hours working outdoors, and a family experience that changed the way we looked at sun protection forever.

We're Angie Nisbet and Shona Larkin, fifth-generation beef producers from North West Queensland. Between us we've spent our lives on the land—mustering cattle, fixing fences, feeding livestock, raising families and embracing everything that comes with living in rural Australia.

Like so many women on the land, we searched for years for gloves that actually worked. We wanted something that protected our hands from Australia's harsh sun, stood up to the demands of everyday work, and still felt comfortable enough to wear from sunrise to sunset. We couldn't find them.

Then melanoma hit close to home.

When Shona was diagnosed with melanoma, it became a wake-up call for our family. We realised that while we were diligent about sunscreen and hats, our hands were one of the most exposed—and most forgotten—parts of our bodies.

We knew there had to be a better way.

So, over a coffee after a morning in the paddock, a simple conversation changed everything.

"Why don't we make our own?"

That one question sparked months of research, testing, redesigning and learning. Every glove has been created with real life on the land in mind—combining certified UPF50+ sun protection, durability, comfort and designs women are genuinely proud to wear.

Today, FarmHer Hands is about far more than gloves.

It's about protecting the women, men and families who spend their days outdoors. It's about encouraging conversations around skin health and helping reduce the impact of melanoma in rural Australia. It's about proving that practical workwear can also be comfortable, functional and beautiful.

Every pair of gloves represents our belief that looking after yourself shouldn't be an afterthought.
